Lawmakers in Sacramento are currently discussing the possibilities of legalize online poker for California residents. It is very important that the bill balances the interests of tribes, racetracks and cardrooms.
California would be the largest online poker market in the United States and could easily support multiple poker sites. Although it remains to be seen when a poker bill will be passed, the common consensus is that it’s a matter of “when” not “if”.
Three states have passed bills and now currently offer residents regulated online poker sites including: New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware. California is not a state to sit idle so many believe that in January or February 2014 we will see a push by lawmakers and interest groups to pass online poker legislation.
